Bound training is a long time tradition of the Inayan System of Eskrima, especially within Inayan Serrada and Inayan Kadena De Mano.
The purpose of which is to encourage very efficient and compact movement. The benefit is a faster skill set, that reduces risks associated with elongated positions and articulations. For example providing a tighter profile prevents the limbs being struck during attacks and defense from “defanging” attempts by the opponent. Moreover, locks and disarms are more difficult on someone who’s arms do not extend from the body as much.
