How Fast is Fast, Falco Peregrinus

The purpose of this video is to highlight another aspect of the Inayan System of Eskrima. It’s the ability to preform at speed with an unrehearsed strike and riposte exchange.

The training at some level is finite, as there are a finite amount of possible articulations of the limb, and there are a finite number of positions. However, there are enough variables that a pattern need not be adhered to. So in this video you see myself and Guro Meyer going at about 85-90% speed under control but with permutations and combinations of defense and counter that create an extemporaneous experience.

If it’s a pattern, it’s dancing, and never comes near approximating a fight against a skilled opponent. This particular rendering has only slight permutations and combinations. While this is a drill, and there is danger inherent in this drill, it is part of a whole continuum of the Inayan System of Eskrima and is a necessary step to cultivating accomplished and formidable Eskrimadors.

Join the system and learn our path.
