The Inayan Serrada Eskrima method is a medium to short range method of Filipino Martial Art, that is oft times misrepresented as an Espada Y Daga method.
While if we used a taxonomy or naming convention that used tools as an indicator for naming then yes, the Inayan Serrada Eskrima method is an Espad Yd Daga method, and a Garrote y Daga method, and a Doble Baston method, and a Solo Baston method, and a Doble Daga method, and a Mano-Mano method…
But this System as designed by Mangisursuro Mike Inay does not use naming conventions based upon the tools being used. And while there are reputable systems and instructors that do so, in Inayan we do not.
Whether you like this karenza video, or learn something from it, or glean any gem from it, is not the purpose of the video. For the youtube.com/inayaneskrimador subscribers it’s just content for them. For us that are in the ITO and training in the ISE this is an illustration of but one facet of a much more complex approach to FMA then mere designations by what is held in the hand, or not held in the hand.
Each method, be it Inayan Serrada, or Inayan Kadena De Mano, or Inayan Latiko Y Daga, or any other method, present a distinct and different approach to combat as a concept and principle. If you master Inayan Serrada for example, you should be able to employ it with a tactical flash light or a bandana, and anyone who knew would never mistake it for anything but Inayan Serrada.
